Full-time Consultant-Risk Analyst

Risk Analyst position - Position will be outsourced through Aon Global Risk Consulting and is located at client premises in Metro Detroit, MI.

General Requirements:
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of general insurance, including property, liability, worker’s compensation and bonds.
Demonstrate general knowledge of risk management practices and the professional ethics required to function with a department
Demonstrate an awareness of new issues in the field of risk management
Demonstrate good communication skills, written and oral.
Exhibit the interpersonal skills needed to maintain good working relationships with brokers, carriers, vendors and clients.
Demonstrate teamwork, flexibility regarding assignments, responsiveness to the firm’s needs and the needs of its clients, and a generally positive attitude toward the firm and the risk management department.
Demonstrate a good work ethic; i.e., punctuality and regular attendance through prior work history.
Perform other duties as required.

Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintains effective and productive relationships with clients (internal and external).
Gathers and analyzes data on exposures, loss history and standard and unique coverage needs for submissions. Performs submission assembly/creation where assigned.
Manages client open items lists and responds to client ad-hoc requests.
Actively supports and monitors the renewal process including issuing (at the direction of the Client) or following up for binder, policies and endorsements.

Demonstrates strong organizational and project management skills..
Applies a working knowledge of a major insurance coverages, (including general/product liability, commercial automobile, workers’ compensation, property, time element, umbrella, financial coverages, etc.) client-specific coverages and premium rating methods and audits.
Understands the structure and content of insurance contracts, and is aware of most commercial insurance coverages.
Applies Client policies and procedures and the principles of risk management accurately and thoughtfully to make logical decisions.
Gains an accurate understanding of facts and situations quickly and efficiently, recognizing when more information is needed or others should be consulted to make a decision or resolve a problem.
Demonstrates sound business sense and looks to increase business acumen.
Works with high levels of interest, energy and enthusiasm to meet or exceed clients’ expectations.
Acts with responsiveness, urgency and professionalism in all client matters.
Accepts accountability for the quality of their work.

QUALIFICATIONS 

Professional Education
Bachelors Degree or equivalent with Risk Management/Business related curriculum preferred
Brokers license
CIC, CPCU, or ARM preferred

Experience
Minimum three years in an insurance related organization.
Ability to work with various parties, including underwriters, brokers, lawyers, etc.
Proficiency in PC office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
