Full-time Commercial Surety Underwriter - 3+ Years Experience Needed

Chubb is currently seeking a Commercial Surety Underwriter to join our Home Office team in Warren, NJ.

Position Description:
The Commercial Surety Underwriter, Home Office is responsible in the development and fulfillment of goals established for profit, service, relationship management, accounts, competitors and other Chubb departments. They will operate within the Surety home office structure and be responsible for working closely with branch offices in the dual underwriting process and making recommendations and decisions according to established parameters. Occasional travel may be required to effectively manage assigned territory, strengthen existing relationships, and assist field in developing new business relationships to achieve department and Commercial Surety Customer group goals.

Underwrite existing business in accordance with established underwriting guidelines. Make prompt and decisive recommendations and/or underwriting decisions. Provide prompt, reliable service to both our external and internal customers. Maintain complete and well-documented account files. Work with all staff, including Director, Underwriting Manager, CUO, International HO staff and others to meet overall department and branch goals.

Competencies / Tech Skills:
• The candidate must possess 3 years+ of surety underwriting experience.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills required. Must work well with field offices and have the ability to develop strong relationships internally and externally.
• Self-motivated and highly engaged in the business.
• Support the dual underwriting process by analyzing pertinent underwriting information and branch office recommendations and then making well informed underwriting decisions.
• Operate within the home office structure working collaboratively with the field offices, agency plant, and customers.
• Strong overall business acumen and organizational skills required.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and make good business decisions.
