Full-time P&C Risk Engineer - 10+ Years of Risk Control Experience Desired

Chubb is seeking a Property & Casualty Risk Engineer for our Loss Control team based in Chicago, IL.

Job Requirements:

The candidate will provide risk improvement consultation to commercial customers to positively impact the customer's loss ratio and deliver value that influences the insurance buying decision. The primary focus of this position will be the successful execution of consultative based servicing and risk engineering services to clients. Account coordination skills are critical along with dealing with large Real Estate and Risk Management accounts. In addition, on-site visits of existing and prospective customers will be conducted and comprehensive reports will be completed that evaluate exposures and controls for adequate risk selection, pricing, and application of underwriting techniques leading to profitable growth. The territory consists mostly of the Chicago metropolitan area. Position may require very infrequent overnight travel, less than 15%.

Activities include scheduling, visitation, processing of client correspondence and inquiries, report completion and recommendation follow-up as necessary, coordination with claims and underwriting partners as well as loss control resources around the country to insure consistent risk selection, high retention and the exceeding of service expectations. This position reports to the Area Loss Control Manager.

Technical Skills:
Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in property and casualty insurance risk control and loss prevention functions, primarily focused on evaluating hazards and controls and coordination of large accounts. This position is responsible for counseling existing commercial insurance customers in risk improvement. Candidate must have a sound proficiency in property and casualty exposure and control analysis. Strong background in client service with workers compensations customers is highly desirable.

Knowledge:
Candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of property construction, occupancy, protection, and exposures, business interruption exposures and controls, product liability exposures and controls, workers compensation exposures and controls, commercial vehicle exposures and controls, interviewing techniques, client service and technical report writing.

Requirements include:
•Excellent writing skills
•Excellent oral communication skills
•Effective time management skills
•Ability to function independently
•Ability to function as an integral member of a client service team
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat required
•Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint preferred
•Bi-lingual Spanish and English speaking preferred but not required

Education:
•Four-year college degree with major in sciences or engineering preferred.
•Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as CSP, CFPS or ARM is highly desirable.
