Full-time Specialty Field Underwriter - 3+ Yrs of Professional Liability Experience

Chubb is seeking a Professional Liability Underwriter for the White Plains, New York Office. The ideal underwriter will have experience handling D&O/EPL/FID/Crime, Chubb Pro and Healthcare products for not-for-profit and private companies.

Key Accountability:
Responsible for profitable growth of assigned book of business. Underwrites both new and renewal for assigned agents. New business goal is $1,000,000.

Major Job Functions:
• Utilizes appropriate tools and strategies to underwrite new and renewal business within area of product, customer and/or industry segments.
• Maintains underwriting quality standards - Includes appropriate documentation and authority relating to underwriting decision.
• Serves as point person for collaborating with both the USB and SRC for your assigned agents. Maintains high visibility through proactive key account communication and visitation with producing agent/client.
• Develops and executes effective strategies to generate profitable Field new business growth. Minimum travel is 12 visits a month to assigned agents.
• Analyzes opportunities and creates business development strategy for assigned book of business. Prospects for new business within specialty area. Includes driving opportunities for the SRC, account rounding, cross-selling and alliance opportunities. Documents prospects in Salesforce.
• Supports and collaborates on Branch sales and marketing initiatives. Includes assisting with new product launches including local marketing campaigns, as appropriate.

• Supports and collaborates on Branch agency management activities including agency analysis and planning, education, and visitation. As part of the Branch agency planning process, conducts analysis of agency's Field book of business and works with Branch CSI Manager to establish new business goals.
• Responsible for educating agents on products, services, automation, and underwriting standards as well as sales/marketing techniques. Participates in agent education events including CE courses and product fairs within area of underwriting expertise.
• For assigned producers, manages agency relationships and expectations. Leads/participates in agency analysis and planning. Develops and executes on an effective agency strategy to grow the business.
• Informs manager of coverage and/or product opportunities/weaknesses impacting growth potential; gathers pertinent competitive information to assist in developing product development recommendations.
Critical Competencies:
• Underwriting Acumen: Demonstrates deep technical knowledge of Chubb products, competitors, customers and market place within dedicated area of expertise. Exhibits rigor and expertise in underwriting accounts within specialty area. Ability to adhere to underwriting strategies and regulatory compliance standards.
• Account Management: Demonstrated ability to build strong key account relationships and manage customer expectations under changing market conditions. Proven track record in promoting business retention and growth.
• Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to find creative solutions that strike appropriate balance between insured and producer needs while adhering to company/ CSI underwriting standards. Comfortable walking away from the account, if necessary.
• Sales and Marketing: Knowledge of Chubb products, competitors, customers, and marketplace within dedicated area of expertise. Demonstrated ability to effectively execute growth and retention strategies. Proven prospecting skills, effective use of CSI sales and marketing tools and utilization of Salesforce.
• Agency Management: Ability to build strong agency relationships and manage expectations under changing market conditions. Record of results in promoting business retention and growth.
• Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with multiple SBU’s, Branch and Home Office stakeholders. Demonstrates effective consultation and partnering skills.
• Communications: Demonstrated ability to differentiate the Chubb proposal by effectively articulating (verbally and in writing) CSI strategy, appetite and capabilities.

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years of underwriting experience
