Full-time Product Development Analyst

at Virginia Farm Bureau in Virginia

Develop new insurance products and enhancements to existing programs that are profitable, competitive, compliant and consistent with the corporate goals and objectives of a multi-state insurance operation.

• Research and develop coverage forms, endorsements, manuals and applications needed to support new and existing products.
• Review insurance products to ensure profitability, competitiveness and legal compliance.
• Participate in drafting IS technical requirements for system implementation of product changes.
• Recommend product changes in response to consumer needs and marketplace trends.
• Review and implement legislative, regulatory and other mandated changes.
• Facilitate Bureau of Insurance filings and maintain a good working relationship with the Bureau of Insurance.
• Provide product knowledge to other functional areas in the Department/Company.

• Assist with product training as needed.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on special projects including new processing system initiatives.
• All other duties assigned by Management.

• Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years equivalent work experience.
• Minimum four (4) years experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance Industry.
• Minimum two (2) years product development experience.
• Minimum one (1) year project management (inc. cost benefit analysis) experience.
• Skill researching Bureau of Insurance Laws & Regulations and performing SERFF filings.
• Proven analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Keen ability to multi-task on projects while being attentive to details and target dates.
• Strong initiative, leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
• Ability to work well in a team and with all levels of the organization.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• INS, AINS or similar designation.

• Multi-state experience across Virginia, New York and the New England region, or a subset thereof.
• Progress toward CPCU, ARP, AU or similar designation.
