Full-time Employment Litigation Attorney - 2-3+ Years of EPL Experience Needed

Chubb’s Chicago House Counsel firm, Schueler, Dallavo & Casieri, seeks associate level candidates with 2-3 years of expertise in employment law for its Chicago location. As a member of Chicago House Counsel, this attorney will be responsible for defending employment litigation and charges of discrimination in state and federal courts and agencies filed against Chubb insureds.

Specific duties will include: trial work; conducting and defending depositions and engaging in other pre-trial discovery; drafting pleadings; engaging in motion practice; researching, briefing, and arguing appellate matters; appearing in administrative agency matters; negotiating settlements; generating reports and providing evaluations on assigned cases.

Job Requirements:

  • Admissions to Illinois bar and The United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois required.
  • Must have 2-3 years of prior employment litigation experience.
  • Must have strong knowledge of current procedural and substantive law, as well as federal, state, and administrative agency rules.
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective oral and written advocacy skills and negotiation tactics.
  • Demonstrated legal writing expertise is necessary.
  • Must have an ability to apply analytical skills in addressing complex legal issues.
  • Must be able and willing to proactively communicate with clients, claims staff, and other members of House Counsel.
  • Substantive experience and willingness to assist in personal injury law and other areas of law including D&O (housing discrimination complaints etc) and E&O experience also considered a benefit.
